details

This model, as well as the

cutlery number 81 of Hermann Gretsch and other designs by Ralph Krämer or Hans Schwippert from the sixties are produced as historical models. These patterns are landmarks of the cutlery design and the company Carl Hugo Pott regards it as a cultural task to continue with the production of these models. Since beginning of the industrial cutlery production in the middle of the 19th century, the process is connected with an immense expenditure in tools and machines, cutleries are not made like still in the 18th century individually by a goldsmith any more. The various cut- and mint tools are fitted into the huge machines, which press a flat piece of metal with several tonnes of pressure to a ready shaped cutlery part at the end.

And before this background we

ask for your understanding that some patterns are produced by Pott only one time the year to guarantee the attentive production. These cutleries can be thereby hold in the prize range typical with Pott, however, these cutleries are made on demand and mostly not in stock. The production of these cutleries is scheduled yearly in summer and an order until end of March is recommended. The patience is requited by unusual designs of unusual designers.

material

stainless

Stainless steel of home products is an alloy of steel, chrome and nickel which is dishwasher safe and resistant to corrosion by light organic and inorganic acids and water. To the cleaned steel the elements chrome (Cr) and nickel (Ni) are added and provide the corrosion resistance and the softer shine which can be noticed on closer inspection. High-grade steel - stainless steel can also contain other elements like molybdenum, vanadium and other more, however, common 18/10 steels with 18% of chrome and 10% of nickel is very popular. For low demands 18/0 steel is offered which contains no nickel and is notably less corrosion-resistant  and shining.
